What Vitalstat Uses Strava For
Vitalstat lets you connect your own Strava account so your Strava activities can be displayed in your private Vitalstat dashboard.
Vitalstat uses Strava data only to show your own activity information back to you inside the app. Strava data is displayed only to the authenticated Vitalstat user who connected the Strava account.
Vitalstat does not post activities to Strava on your behalf.
How to Connect Strava
- Open Vitalstat on your iPhone.
- Go to the app settings or data source connection screen.
- Select Strava and continue to the Strava authorization page.
- Review the permissions shown by Strava and approve access if you agree.
- Return to Vitalstat, where your permitted Strava activity data will be imported.
Data Requested from Strava
Depending on the permissions you approve in Strava and the data available on each activity, Vitalstat may access:
- Activity details such as activity type, name, start time, elapsed time, moving time, and description.
- Training metrics such as distance, elevation, speed, pace, calories, heart rate, cadence, and power where available.
- Route and map data where available and authorized, including GPS-derived route information.
- Activity media and details such as laps, segments, photos, and related activity fields where provided by Strava and authorized by you.
- Athlete account identifier needed to keep your Strava connection associated with your Vitalstat app installation.
Privacy and Data Handling
Vitalstat requests access through Strava OAuth. Your Strava username and password are handled by Strava and are never stored by Vitalstat. Vitalstat stores only the authorization tokens needed to retrieve your permitted Strava data.
Your Strava data is used only to provide Vitalstat features to you. We do not sell Strava data, use it for advertising, disclose Strava data to other users, or share Strava data with third parties.
For full details about data processing, storage, retention, and your rights, see the Vitalstat iOS Privacy Policy.
Disconnecting Strava
You can disconnect Strava from inside Vitalstat by opening the app settings, selecting Strava, and choosing the disconnect or remove connection option when available.
You can also revoke Vitalstat access from your Strava account by going to Strava settings, opening the apps or connected apps section, and revoking access for Vitalstat. After access is revoked, Vitalstat will no longer be able to import new Strava data.
When access is revoked or disconnected, Vitalstat deletes Strava data associated with your Vitalstat account in accordance with Strava's API terms and policy.
Data Deletion
To request deletion of Vitalstat data associated with your app installation, follow the instructions on the account and data deletion page. You may also email support@vital-stat.com with the subject line "Strava data deletion request".
Deleting Vitalstat data does not delete your original activities from Strava. To delete activities from Strava itself, use Strava directly.
Deleted or unavailable Strava activities are removed from Vitalstat when detected and no later than required by Strava's API policy.
Troubleshooting
I approved Strava, but activities are missing.
Confirm that the activity exists in Strava, that you approved the requested permissions, and that you are signed into the same Strava account you use for recording activities.
I connected the wrong Strava account.
Disconnect Strava in Vitalstat or revoke access in Strava, then connect again with the correct Strava account.
I need help with my connection.
Email support@vital-stat.com and include the device you are using, the app version if available, and a short description of the issue.
